The Appleton Shower System is a simple, foolproof shower system that works… all the time, every time. Experience has taught us that complex nozzles and cleaning devices may work well in the lab and fall flat in the "real world" of the paper mill. The Appleton System has been proven through years of mill service. Our design formula is straight-forward:

Use quality materials…

The shower piping is typically 304L or 316L stainless steel, though more exotic grades are used when the application requires them. Your application determines the specific grade. Care is taken during our manufacturing cycle to ensure that your showers are never contaminated by contact with other metals.

Design for the application…

The Appleton Shower Systems are design to handle the stringent requirements of the papermaking environment. Pipe sizes are dictated by water volume and pressure, coupled with the required spray pattern. Available sizes include 1-1/2, 2, 2-1/2, 3, 4, and 5 inch I.D.s.

The internal brush ensures shower performance, even with white water. The stainless steel brushes wipe through the nozzle, removing even the most stubborn contaminants. The Appleton brush design cleans the entire internal diameter of the pipe.

Operation is simple…

The operator turns a single handwheel which in turn rotates the brush and opens the discharge valve. The nozzle is wiped clean and the contaminants are discharged off-machine. The showering process is uninterrupted. The internal brush saves you money on filtering, downtime and maintenance labor.

Our nozzles are designed to minimize plugging, even without the brush. The nozzle tip protrudes into the pipe where the water velocity cleans it continuously.

Our engineers specify the proper nozzle from a selection that ranges from 0.040 to 0.079 for needle spray, or 0.065 to 0.315 for fan spray patterns. Custom sizes have been generated for specialized needs.

The efficient nozzle design keeps water pressure requirements to a minimum. This minimal pressure results in lower water consumption and reduced pump wear.

Provide meaningful options…

The Appleton Showering System can be equipped with optional equipment that permits remote or timed actuation of the internal brush and discharge valve. This ensure maximum showering efficiency… without regular operator intervention. Air or Electro-mechanical Oscillators can be added to provide linear or rotary motion, meeting the needs of the application. System controls can be interlocked with the process to protect forming fabrics and reduce water consumption.
