Molossers Banned in Germany

ooo
The following is a letter which was sent to the Bordeaux message boards on the internet

Scandinavian protest against the ban and treatment of the Molossers in Germany.

Please pay attention. This is important and will only take a few moments of your time.

LAST MONDAY TRAGEDY struck in Hamburg, Germany. A six-year-old boy was attacked and killed by two dogs in a school playground. While we cannot even begin to imagine the horror and grief that his poor parents must be suffering it seems as though one unspeakable tragedy has spawned another.

IN AN OUTBREAK of public hysteria the German government has seen fit to introduce new legislation that will effectively ban the continued breeding or ownership of many breeds of dogs. In one area 13 breeds of dog are banned and a further 29 breeds are on what is effectively a " dangerous dog" list. In other areas it is even worse, for example Hessen where the 15 breeds listed are not allowed to be owned.

Some of the breeds affected are the Bullmastiff, Dogo Argentino, Dogue de Bordeaux, Fila Brasileiro, Mastiff, Mastin Español, Mastino Napoletano, Kangal & Kavkazskaia Ovtcharka.

THE RESULTS OF THIS is that the breeds in question are no longer protected animals but rather they may be killed by anyone as vermin. During the public hysteria, dogs and owners have been attacked in the streets, pelted with stones, kicked, even in one case a poor Bordeaux was dragged into the street douse in kerosene and set on fire!

"SO HOW DOES A GERMAN LAW AFFECT ME?"

IT'S SIMPLE. The legislation that is taking place in Germany is also being put forward to the European court, which means that all of you who owns a Molosser could soon find yourselves in the same situation as the German owners?..

WITH THIS E-MAIL I wish to start a Scandinavian protest against the ban and treatment of the Molossers in Germany. Please take a moment of your time to go to the following URL: http://www.alltomhundar.com/aoh/protest/index.html and sign your name, country & E-mail address to our petition.

The list will be sent to Hans Werner at the German Embassy in Sweden.
