OUR RESCUES THANK THEIR "GODPARENTS"
March 2002
Hi Everyone:
It has been 6 wonderful months since our Mommy Stace and all of you have saved our lives. Dawk had 9 surgeries in a 4 month period. Her shoulder is finally closed but she had a false pregnancy due to being bred so many times. Her body thought she must be pregnant again. When my sister and I (Daisy) came to RockenCash DDB Rescue we each weighed about 56 pounds. Well, my chunky monkey sister, Dawk now weighs 138 pounds and Daddy Brian thinks she is the most beautiful female Dogue he has ever seen in this whole world. Because I am a bit more petite, I weigh a whole 109 pounds now. I believe I carry it very well!
Dawk absolutely loves Mom. She is very much a mommy's girl. When Mom goes in the office, so does Dawk. When Mom sits down, guess who's always on her lap? Dawk. Dawk has even learned to push our new big baby brother, Chaos, out of Moms lap.
And I, Daisy, am a Daddy's girl. I get so excited when Dad wants to play and when Mom is making dinner. I start dancing in circles and biting at Mom's heels. Daddy calls me "Happy Dancer." I love playing with my brothers and sisters. We have fun playing tug-of- war and chewing on bones. This winter Dawk and I learned how to play in the snow and warm up by the fire. I have also learned how to pull my weight with all my dogue brothers and sisters. Here's my motto: if there is not a seat to sit in, just sit on a dogue. He or she will move...eventually!
Dawk and I have seen some new rescues come in and go out to new homes since we have lived here and we are so grateful to all of you for your continuous support. Your donations of funds, towels, blankets, kennels, phone cards and so many other needed supplies have helped Mom Stace be able to save other DDB's who need love and medical care. Since January, we have already had over 10 rescues.
Dawk and I want to send a very SPECIAL THANK YOU to the man that helped our mommy save our lives and did whatever it took to make sure my sister's shoulder finally closed and healed. He performed many, many surgeries, called and spoke to many doctors and took phone calls at all hours of the day and night. He even called to check on us while on vacation with his family. We would like to send a HUGE THANK YOU to Dr. Bob Yack of Jackson Creek Veterinary Hospital. Mom doesn't know what she would do without Dr. Bob and his wonderful Staff.
Dawk, Daisy and all the rescues would like to thank all the Godparents for your marvelous support and for not turning your backs on us and ignoring the problems we face. THANK YOU. It means so much!
Love and Slobbers,
Dawk, Daisy ,and all the Dogue de Bordeaux Rescues and Stace Eakle,
RockenCash DDB Rescue

January 2002
Dear Godparents,
This has been a special year in the life of Dogue De Bordeaux Rescue and the USBC. Due to an overwhelming number of rescue DDB's who needed extensive medical care, we started a new support group called "The Godparents." We asked that people open their hearts and their wallets by becoming a Supporting Godparent for $240 per year, a Sustaining Godparent for $1,200 per year, or a Lifetime Godparent for $2,000.
We consider the following list our "Founding Godparents." You answered our plea and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
- DEANNE BARNETT
- SAWAKO AND KEVIN DWYER
- BETH AND ROB MURDOCH
- MELISSA WALKER
- MARY WHIPPLE
- DAYLE AND ABE ZUKOR
With appreciation for your help,
Stace Eakle
