Minutes of the EDIDA Board Meeting
4/7/05 (March)

Board Attendees: Hale, Jonah, Lewis, Winston, Leslie, John, Charles, Stephanie (arrived 7:10)

Other Attendees: Gina and Rose, EDIDA Executive Directors, Carla (Voicer for Hale), Don (Voicer for Winston and Minute taker)

The meeting came to order at 6:45 P.M.

Hale asked if there were any objections to moving the Board meeting back to the EDIDA offices at the church. Lewis thought it might be confusing the move the Board meeting around, but the Board agreed to move the meeting back by consent.

Charles was elected Vice-President of the EDIDA Board by acclimation.

Public Comment. Gina said that she received a copy of a disturbing letter that was insulting and all lies and that she hopes the Board will throw it out. Charles contacted his acquaintance Sabrina Klein, Executive Director of the Julia Morgan Theater, regarding Board trainings. She would like to come work with the Board. Charles will see if she can come to the April Board meeting. Jonah mentioned that he hoped the best for Peter, and John said that Peter’s memorial will be held on May 1st. Gina announced that the Peoples’ Park anniversary will be held from 12-6 on Sunday, April 24th. Stephanie attended the Town Hall meeting to protest Governor Schwartznegger’s plans to cut the budget for In Home Support Services (IHSS), but commented that the meeting did not happen. Hale added that this year the Governor wants the counties to make up the difference above minimum wage for IHSS workers.

Stephanie announced that Winston agreed to trade his role as Chair of the Fundraising Committee to her in exchange for her role as Secretary of the EDIDA Board. Leslie said that she would join the SUS committee. The Board approved these changes by acclimation.

The Board moved by acclimation to go into Executive Session and to invite Carla and Don to stay. Gina and Rose left. The balance of this meeting was Executive Session. The regular Board meeting was adjourned at 7:45 P.M.
