Freelance seminars offer help in

'Realising your earning potential'

The Freelance Centre, headed by freelance broadcaster Roy Sheppard, was set up with the aim of helping freelances who may not be realising their full earning potential. In this context "freelance" means anyone involved in freelance self-employment: not just photographers, but writers, illustrators, broadcasters and others. The Centre runs regular seminars and will supply a free copy of their Freelance Report, based on the seminar content, upon request.

BFP member Paul McBride went along to a recent seminar as an independent observer on behalf of the Bureau, and came back impressed: "Roy Sheppard is a skilful communicator who has got the freelance game sussed. As he says, it's not the freelances who are best at their craft who make the most money - it's the ones who understand how to market themselves pro-actively that are cleaning up.

Sheppard is an expert in teaching others what it takes to be a successful freelance in today's market."

The full price of each day-long seminar is £96 + VAT, but Roy Sheppard has agreed a special £20 discount for BFP members. The next seminar is expected to take place in mid-February. "But", says Paul McBride, "before you rush off and plonk down hard earned lolly to hear more, send off for the free Freelance Report. It's tull of practical advice on how you can find more work and increase your client base with immediate effect. I did - and have done."
