Dr. Omer Yedekcioglu
T.H.E. Journal, Jan. 1996, p. 64-69
Description of a project by the Turkey Ministry of Education to spread computer
literacy and the use of computers in high schools. The article describes
the history of computer aided education in Turkey since 1984 and the 53
schools designated in 1993 to participate as Computer Experimental Schools.
The use of computers in Turkey's high school education is still at a very
early stage. Major problems to overcome are the lack of financial resources,
lack of appropriate planning, and lack of adequate software.
