GPS technology, once the sole domain of the military, is now available
for public use. Three professors first explain how GPS works, then provide
some specific examples of how they introduce GPS to their students with
field-based exercises. Forestry and geography classes are highlighted, but
archeology, geology, and wildlife science are discussed as well.
