Educators for Social Responsibility (ESR), founded in 1982, is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping young people develop the convictions and skills to build a safe, sustainable, and just world.
ESR is nationally recognized for promoting children's ethical and social development through its leadership in conflict resolution, violence prevention, intergroup relations, and character education.
ESR supports educators and parents with professional development, networks, and instructional materials. ESR is the leading voice for ensuring that teaching social responsibility is a core practice in the schooling and upbringing of children.
Annually, ESR reaches an estimated 20,000 educators through materials, workshops, conferences, and on-site training.
