Description:

National Geographic's GeoBee Challenge is a multimedia game based on questions from the well-known National Geography Bee sponsored by the National Geographic Society. GeoBee Challenge teaches students geography, social studies and world history facts through entertaining fast-paced puzzles and multiple choice questions.

GeoBee Challenge features an animated environment characterized by dancing polka dots and hundreds of other surprises. Each player is represented by a game piece, such as the Shrimp Rabbit, Turbo Squirrel, Pogo Kitty, and Kung Fu Stick Man. The game pieces love winning as much as the players do. Players receive constant encouragement from their game pieces and their hosts. Audio background for the show includes space age music and quirky sound effects. The comedy team of BuzzBee and Reginald serve as the hosts of GeoBee Challenge. These two characters guide players through the game, challenging kids to an assortment of geography questions and puzzles. BuzzBee is an energetic and emotional character who is constantly jumping in and out of the game, offering trivia tips, and using an assortment of foreign accents to enhance gameplay. Reginald, coolly educated and camera-shy, chimes in as the authoritative source of information and answers.

Drawing on the vast database of questions from the National Geography Bee, GeoBee Challenge combines multiple-choice questions and puzzles that kids solve in a race against the computer-or against up to two friends. Kids earn points by providing answers throughout the game; whoever has the most points at the end of the final round is the GeoBee Challenge winner. Top scorers can even enter the "Hall of Fame."

GeoBee also helps students improve their memory, problem-solving, and deductive reasoning skills, by challenging them in competitions directly against the computer or with other students. With more than 2,000 questions it's sure to engage even the most advanced geography students. Students also have access to direct links to the GeoBee Challenge Web site.
