Description:

New Millennium World Atlas Deluxe Education Edition lets you explore, travel, and research the world from high above Earth to street level for some of the world's largest cities, and all points in between.

Explore thousands of Internet links. Personalize maps and information to fit your needs. In addition to the maps, you can look at the world through the eyes of an historian, a geologist, a meteorologist, or a sociologist.

The Atlas contains a 3-D Map of the World containing over 1.6 million places, realistic shaded relief, and extensive geographical information. This virtual world can be viewed as a globe or wall-map.

The Explorations feature contains illustrations, photos, and animation that permit you to discover what Earth looked like 50, 100, or 200 million years ago. Learn how climate, erosion, and glaciation have affected our planet. Understand the influence of geography as you explore Historic Empires, Wars, and the Spread of Goods and Culture.

New Millennium World Atlas Deluxe Education Edition also offers the Map Styles tool, a customization feature that allows you to choose one of the options created by Rand McNally's experienced cartographers, or create your own. Select colors, turn the shaded relief on or off, or choose from more than 75 map features to create a look and style that is uniquely yours.

The Notebook Guide feature lets you create and store maps and information in your own personalized Notebook. Suppose you're interested in the history of the Ottoman Empire. Simply start a new Notebook with the title you want and add maps, history articles, and graphics. Store the information, reorganize it, or print it. The Notebook Guide is especially useful for students or business reports.

The Geographic Articles feature allows you to trace human development through historical, cultural, scientific, and wildlife articles. New Millennium weaves together articles with links to 3-D maps and to the Internet.

The Detailed City Center Street Maps feature permits you to examine city center street-level maps for 65 major cities around the world.

New Millennium World Atlas Deluxe Education Edition includes a printable Education Guide on the CD ROM that walks you through 14 key features to demonstrate how each of them can be applied to in-class and independent study on subjects such as History, Geography, Political Science and Earth Science.
