1. See Lender (Bank/Finance Company) To See How Much Of A Loan You Qualify For
2. Rough Bid From Contractor/S Before Drawing Plans

Note: Know How Much Home You Can Afford Before Drawing Plans! 

3. Plans Drawn (Engineered) Include All A/C, Truss Layouts Etc.
4. Final Bid From Contractor/S
5. Submit Contract And Plans To Lender
6. Submit Plans To Homeowners Association (If Applicable) Important !
7. Submit Plans And Permit Application For Permitting
8. Lender Will Issue A Notice Of Commencement (Start Construction)

 

This Document Must Be Posted Before Construction Can Begin ! Important !
Note: It Is Wise To Record A “Notice Of Commencement” Even If A Lender Is Not Involved. This Document Is Required By Most Government Agencies. See Your Title Company For Help. Important !

9. Pull And Post Permits
10. Purchase Required Insurances (Homeowners , Liability) Important !
11. Make Sure That Subcontractors Have Worker’s Compensation Insurance And Liability ! Important !
12. Stob Off Proposed Location Of Home (Check Setbacks From Property Lines!!)

Make Sure To Meet All Minimum Setbacks From Property Line!
Failure To Do So Can Result In A Lawsuit And Result In The Demolition Of Your New Home !!!! This Is The Most Important Step !!

13. Prepare Home Site (Remove Grass/Trees) And Backfill As Necessary
14. Install Culvert Or Ditch Pipes If Applicable At Street
15. Place Portable Jon On Site
16. Temporary Electric Power Pole (Normally Supplied By Electrician)
17. Well Installed Or Water Meter
18. Footer (Foundation) Dug Prepared For Inspection

19. Foundation Block For Stem Wall Construction

Note: Foundation Height Is Very Critical. Make Sure That The Home
Foundation Is High Enough To Meet Flood, Septic, And Street
Elevation Requirements. This Is The Second Most Important Step!!

20. Survey Foundation ,Show Setbacks From Property Lines, (And  Floor Elevation If In Flood Zone Or Meeting Street Elevation Requirements)

21. Foundation Fill (Inside Foundation)


Note: Make Sure That Fill Is Compacted Well. Important !

 No Fill Is Needed For  Wood Frame Floor Systems, Only For Concrete Slab Style.
