Women are on the edge of a new era. A growing international women's health movement is effectively advocating new health and population policies to better meet women's needs and those of their families, communities, and countries. Working in partnership with women from Asia, Africa, and Latin America, IWHC is at the forefront of this change. Together with health professionals, policy makers, and other women's health advocates, we focus a "women's lens" on policies and programs that effect sexual and reproductive health and rights, especially population policies.
To this end, IWHC is building a network of dedicated allies - a President's Council - to provide emotional, political, and financial support. Members of the President's Council are invited to participate in discussions with international specialists, colleagues from other countries, and the IWHC board to keep current on international issues affecting women's health and rights. Council members provide insight, advice, and feed-back to keep us well-informed and connected to public opinion in the United States. They advocate with the media and elected officials to ensure that in the future U.S. foreign policy and assistance addresses the realities of women's health and human rights.
President's Council members contribute a minimum of $1,000 annually to IWHC.
