How do I volunteer for IWHC?
While there are no volunteer opportunities at IWHC, there are several organizations whose work on women's health and rights may be of interest to you. The Feminist Majority has a listing of feminist internship and employment openings on their Web site.
Does IWHC take interns?
The Coalition does not have a formal internship program, though interns have worked with us from time to time. When such opportunities are available, they are listed with local universities and colleges, or will be posted on our Web site.
Are there any jobs open?
The Coalition has very few job openings a year. When there are job opportunities, the job descriptions will be posted on this website and are generally listed at university career placement offices, sister organizations, non-profit job sources such as the Foundation Center in New York (which has an excellent job bank), the International Job Opportunities bulletin, Monday Developments from InterAction, and the like.
May I send my resume for you to keep on file? Regretfully, limited space and staffing does not permit us to maintain an interim file of materials.
I'm looking for work experience in the field overseas - even unpaid. Can you help?
The Coalition's staff all live in the U.S. and the work we support in the South is done by Southern colleagues themselves. Overseas placements are more commonly available through large aid organizations and are often announced in publications such as Monday Developments from InterAction. There are also several good reference books that list international internship/job opportunities, including the following titles:
