Piscataway Creek Kayak Center Our floating base for classes, tours and rentals is the Kingfisher, our houseboat moored in a quiet wooded bay on beautiful Piscataway Creek in Maryland.
This scenic Potomac tributary is remarkably unchanged from the days when it was a major center of coastal Indian culture. Piscataway National Park, across the Potomac from Mount Vernon and in the shadow of historic Fort Washington, is rich in marshland, riparian islands and quiet beaches.
Piscataway Creek is the most comfortable 'put-in' you'll ever launch from, complete with pre-paddle beverages and snacks, clean bathrooms and hot showers, and a shop stocked with eye glass straps, dry bags, sunscreen and other last minute paddling items. Some trips end with dinner on our sunset deck with its view of Mount Vernon and the Fort Washington Marina. Call us at 703-838-9072 to check our Kayak Center's hours. Parties on the Kingfisher!
