COMBINATION LOCK TECHNOLOGY II

Description: An advanced two day weekend class designed to familiarize the lock technician with proper operating, service, and trouble-shooting techniques for manipulation-resistant safe locks. Both key-change and hand-change locks are covered. This class is an excellent way to increase your knowledge (and earning potential) by learning how to service these advanced-design locks. It is strongly recommended that the student attend CLT I before taking this class.

Locks Covered: Sargent & Greenleaf 8400; 8500; Mosler MR(K)302, and the Mas-Hamilton X-07 are each covered in a detailed, hands-on format. A very interesting selection of other manipulation-resistant locks will also be shown including Fichet, Rosengrens, and Chatwood Milner.

Materials: All hand-tools, locks, change keys, and other materials necessary to this program are supplied by MBA. Pertinent technical handouts will be made available for the student to take back to the job. Participants need only bring a willingness to learn.

The Program:

Day 1: The S&G 8400: Identification; dialing procedure; changing procedure; disassembling, service, and reassembling; handing procedure; opening problem locks. The S&G 8500: Identification; dialing procedure, changing procedure; disassembling, service, and reassembling; handing procedure, opening problem locks. The day concludes with each student having the opportunity to operate and change the combination of a variety of unusual manipulation-resistant locks from around the globe.

Day 2: Mosler MR and MRK302: Identification; dialing procedure; changing procedure; disassembling, service, and reassembling; handing procedure; overcoming relock problems; hand change wheel packs; evaluating and overcoming problems with hand change wheels. Mas-Hamilton X-07: Identification; dialing procedure; changing procedure; single mode; dual mode; super/sub mode; replacement of problem parts; troubleshooting and opening problem locks.

Program Hours: 9am to 5pm, Saturday through Sunday. There will be a one hour break each day between Noon and 1pm.

Price: $350 per seat. Class strictly limited to twelve participants.
