Flight
Instruction
The Mission Soaring Training Program is a model for schools
across the
country. Owner Pat Denevan is a leader in the development of
modern training
standards and the USHGA Instructor Certification Program.
You will train
with experienced, USHGA Certified Instructors. We offer a
complete, flexible
program, beginner to advanced skills, tailored to your
individual rate
of progress. Our small classes provide plenty of personal
attention. We
provide all necessary equipment. We use modern gliders with
training wheels
and MSC designed custom training harnesses. Instruction is
available by
reservation all year round.
How to Start
Your Lesson Program
For those who want to try a lesson before deciding to become a pilot, we offer the Single Lesson for $160. This includes the pre-lesson orientation

|
session, a
flight lesson
on the training hill, and a follow-up Thursday evening
ground school.
If you have
decided to become
a pilot, but you want some experience before choosing your
personal
equipment, we offer the 5 lesson New Pilot Package for
$700. We provide
glider and flying gear. Additional lessons can be
purchased at the package
discount of $140 per day.
Your first goal
is the USHGA
Beginner Rating.
To help you acheive this we offer additional discounts if you convert your package
to the Equipment
Purchase Plan . After purchasing an equipment package from
Mission Soaring,
you can buy lessons for $100 per day. If you have purchased
lessons,
but have not taken them, you can convert them to Equipment
Purchase Plan lessons. The price difference will be applied to your
equipment purchase.
For example, if
you have
three unused $140 lessons, you will save $120 when you buy
equipment.
We encourage you to buy personal equipment as soon as you
are serious
about becoming a pilot. Beyond the obvious lesson
discount, you also
benefit from training on your own glider. Training is
consistent when
you fly the same glider each day. You can potentially get
more flights
during your lesson, with no waiting for a shared shop
glider.
When you are
ready to practice
on your own after reaching the Beginner
Rating,
you will be thoroughly familiar with your own wing. And there is nothing like an investment in equipment to really solidify that commitment to practice that will make you a full fledged pilot sooner. We have a variety of new and used gliders to fit a variety of desires, skills, and budgets. We will help find the |

right equipment for you. Becoming a
pilot is no
small task. But we think our state-of- the-art program is
making it
simpler and more enjoyable than ever.
Advanced Flying
Tow Lessons | High Altitude
In small increments our hydraulic winch can pull you up as high as a 1000ft. You can then release and fly back to land next to the winch, ready for your next flight. A Hang 1 is a prerequisite for the tow classes.
