Edited by Karlin, by Le Minh Khue, Bac Hoai Tran (Translator), Dana Sachs (Translator), Bachoai Tran (Translator)  Fourteen stories by a woman who was a war correspondent in Vietnam.  This sounds like a pretty good book.  1997

    Rumors and Stones : A Journey

A memoir by this Vietnam veteran about his trip to see the town in Poland where his mother lived.  It was one of the many Jewish communities destroyed by the Germans and Poles.  For the author, this resonated with what we know about My Lai and his memoir explores some of the darker corners of history .  1996

Resources for Teaching the Vietnam War : An Annotated Guide This is an inexpensive yet essential resource for anyone trying to teach the war.   It will also be a great shortcut for you as the author, who was a Special Services librarian in Vietnam, has done her homework.  She is very well read in works about the war.  The book is divided into sections, such as fiction, poetry, and documentaries.  Not only is each work annotated, but there is a guide on where to obtain films and speakers.   At the back are suggestions on how to divide the war into units for teaching and resources from the book are listed for each unit.

    Planning for Automation : A How-To-Do-It Manual for Librarians (How-To-Do-It Manuals for Libraries, No. 78)  with  John M. Cohn,  Keith Michael Fiels, Keith Michael Feils

The description on Amazon says: "Here is a basic, comprehensive guide to the essential components of automation planning in medium-sized and smaller libraries.   Emphasizing modular (often microcomputer-based) options, the authors discuss the entire process, from defining basic concepts and terms through establishing priorities, designing specifications, preparing RFPs, and negotiating contracts. What does mean?  It is just my very subjective list of the top ten books to read about the Vietnam War.  I list them here.
