Beginning in 1995, Black Nexxus Inc. began producing and directing it's first documentary entitled Generation X, about the Million Man March. Generation X was exhibited at the Brooklyn Moon Cafe in February 1996. After a year of fundraising and the acquisition of production equipment (including an Avid), Nexxus embarked on producing and directing it's first feature length documentary entitled The Price of Admission. The Price of Admission is the story of five young actors who attempted to put on the play Savage in Limbo off-Broadway.
Soon after Nexxus co-produced several Public Service Announcements about police brutality featuring New York City Councilwoman the Honorable Ann Baez, actress Joie Lee and musical artist Wyclef-all three PSA's have been aired on BET, MTV and CNBC. Black Nexxus has also produced a television pilot entitled Soul of Fashion. Soul of Fashion is a video magazine TV show, which illustrates how the fashion industry works from the inside out. Nexxus has produced two short films entitled What Goes Around Comes Around written and directed by Susan Batson, and A New York Minute written and directed by Carl Ford--both are currently on the film festival circuit. A New York Minute was the most viewed at September's Independent Feature Film Market Festival.
In the last two years Nexxus has authored two feature length scripts-Just the Two of Us and Jazz Groupie--which are currently in further development. Nexxus has edited several music videos for Sony Music, Motown and other independent record labels. Nexxus was creative consultant on Spike Lee's feature film He Got Game, starring Denzel Washington, and we have been given the privilege to serve in the same capacity for his upcoming controversial film Summer of Sam.
Black Nexxus was recently commission to serve as creative consultant for Oliver Stone's soon to be released film, Any Given Sunday.
Nexxus is about to embark into the music world by teaming up with a cutting edge hip-hop group--BLAC LIB Co-op. BLAC LIB marks Nexxus' first step toward Nexxus Music Works coming in the summer of '99.
Nexxus was created for the production, direction, creation and development of powerful entertaining and uplifting art. Developed three years ago upon the idea that a market exists for the illustration of dreams, Nexxus' mission has been to capture and explain the experiences of humanity's cultural continuum.
