Sugarbaker Oncology Associates
Specialty Section for the Treatment of Colorectal Cancer

Gastric cancer is the second most frequently diagnosed cancer in the world. The United States is fortunate in that the incidence of this dreadful disease is lower than many other countries. Still, the Survelience, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program of the National Cancer Institute reports that over 19,000 people were diagnosed and over 1,100 died of gastric cancer in 1994.*

* Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program public use CD-ROM (1973-1994), National Cancer Institute, DCPC, Surveillance Program, Cancer Statistics Branch, released May 1997, based on the August 1996 Submission.

Sugarbaker Oncology Associates maintains an active program in gastric cancer. We offer the most experienced, multidisciplinary group of oncologists in the Washington D.C. area. Our associates have numerous
