Human Menopausal Gonadotropin (HMG) is used to induce the superovulation of mice. Urinary HMG from OriGene Technologies, Inc. is significantly more pure than pregnant mare's serum gonadotropin (PMSG), which is widely used in the induction of mouse ovulation. Unlike PMSG, the FSH:LH ratio in our HMG is fixed to ensure a consistently high quality of fertilized eggs. The HMG is titered for optimal induction of superovulation in mice, and has been shown to work well for both inbred and outbred strains. HMG is also highly effective in superovulation induction in cattle.

  • High Efficiency: HMG-treated female mice produce twice as many high-quality fertilized eggs compared with PMSG-treated mice.
  • Significant Time Savings: Half as many dissections are needed to obtain the same number of fertilized eggs.
  • Huge Cost Savings: You need only half as many females to product the fertilized eggs and you can reduce the housing of stud males to half the number of cages.
