Multiple ChoiceTM Northern Blots are premade, ready to hybridize membranes which offer you a wide variety of choices in terms of organism, tissue, and type of RNA available. Each blot contains 6 lanes. Everything else about the blot is YOUR CHOICE. First, CHOOSE your organism of interest: mouse, rat or human. Second, CHOOSE the tissues you would like to examine. Multiple ChoiceTM Northern Blots are made using 12 major tissues, available in 6 different blot formats. Finally, CHOOSE the type of RNA for your blot. Multiple ChoiceTM Northern Blots can be made with either 20 µg Total RNA or 2 µg Poly A+ RNA per lane. To ensure equal loading of RNA, all blots are probed with beta-actin cDNA. | |

Each region of the brain is carefully dissected by our team of scientists specializing in rat brain anatomy. Total RNA is isolated from these regions, separated by denaturing gel electrophoresis and then transferred to charged nylon membranes. The RNA is fixed to the membranes using UV crosslinking methods. Equal loading of 20 ug of total RNA per lane is ensured by visualization of ribosomal RNAs. This results in a high-quality Northern Blot ready-to-use for your research, saving you valuable time. |
