  PHARMACAL'S ERGONOMIC DRUM TRANSPORTER

Handling drums filled with chemicals can be hazardous. Therefore, drums should only be handled when necessary by trained personnel. Special handling equipment makes moving drums safer and easier. Pharmacal's "new" drum transporter can safely and easily pick up any size poly drum. By keeping the operator away from the drum, safety is maximized.

This unit has a lifting capacity of 800 lbs. The steering is designed with phenolic wheels that can move 360degrees for maneuvering in tight aisles. The wheels have swivel locks for added safety. The drums can be raised or lowered up to twenty inches. The pedals are strategically placed for ease of use.

The Drum Transporter  will help eliminate strained backs, pinched fingers, and the risk of serious injury caused by manhandling drums. The initial cost of the transporter may be recouped by eliminating the sick time and medical expenses associated with this type of work related injury.

Pharmacal continues to provide equipment to help our customers increase safety and keep employees happy while reducing the amount of physical labor required.

We will have a Drum Transporter on display at this year's National Convention.

PRL'S Value

We at Pharmacal Research Laboratories consider our personnel to be number one in value added services.  The Pharmacal individual who comes to your facility can help you with more than just routine assistance.  Your Pharmacal representative is a part of your team in many ways.
All Pharmacal representatives in the field have given countless presentations on the subject of sanitation and safety. We feel so strongly about safety that we incorporated it in our training video, “Sanitation, the Heart of the Animal Care Facility”. We impress on our customers the need to make safety a part of everyone’s daily work regimen. Our updated version of "A Program For Proper Handling & Utilization Of Chemicals In A Laboratory Animal Care Facility" should be read by anyone using chemicals in the animal care field.
PRL representatives offer a variety of technical presentations, such as "A Historical Perspective On Sanitation, A Look At Sanitation In The 21st Century", and articles for the ATA Forum on ‘Tech Talk.”
In addition, many of our representatives have assisted our customers with microbial monitoring programs, including RODAC™plating and water sampling.  We have worked with customers to validate cage washers in GLP facilities. Our Standard Operating Procedures are written so that you can incorporate them into your own SOP’s if you wish.
Our representatives are involved in local AALAS branches, and in national AALAS leadership positions. Ken Shapiro is President-elect of the Allied Trades Association and Amy Ingraham is Chair of the Tech Talk Editorial Committee. Amy is also a board member of two local branches. Vince Lemken has been the SEAALAS treasurer since1996 and has held various positions in AALAS District IV. Frank Lynch has been a member of NCAB for many years and has held various committee positions. Pharmacal's "in house chef" Paul Chavez co-sponsors a barbecue for District8 AALAS.
We feel that this diversity of talent and the willingness to go the extra mile for our customers and the industry singles out Pharmacal as the leader for value and added services.

EQUIPMENT / SERVICE

Pharmacal's Automatic Chemical Proportioning & Dispensing Equipment
Part II

Pharmacal's automatic dispensing equipment eliminates the need for manual mixing and reduces the possibility of incorrect dilutions. This series is being written to inform our customers of the variety of equipment that Pharmacal has to offer.

HYDRO 911

The HYDROCHEM 911 automatically dilutes and dispenses cleaning products in a spraying or foaming mode. The HYDROCHEM 911 dispenses one chemical and provides a full volume rinse with a simple twist of a handle. If a foaming product is being used, the HYDROCHEM 911 produces rich foam that clings to the surfaces, providing maximum contact time.
There are many accessories available to help reduce the labor and time required for cleaning. These include a six-foot supply hose, a twenty five-foot discharge hose, a trigger spray gun (for sprayed products), a foam wand  (for foaming products), a gallon bottle holder, and backflow preventers.
If you would like more information concerning any of Pharmacal's equipment, please us at Pharmacal at 1-800-243-5350.
