Background: Soogy had a difficult life as a child. First as a babe, brigands robbed him of his parents and burned down his home. If not for the kind natured Zelda, Soogy would surely have perished in the harsh woods of Yew. However, Zelda took care of Soogy, and raised him as her own. She taught him to be kind and humble, gentle and respectful. For years they were happy, until again brigands struck. This time, their hatred was unleashed with the help of wild hunting dogs. When it was over, Soogy found himself again alone, wandering the wilderness of Yew, with barely the strength or will to keep living.
Eventually he was rescued by the monks of Empath Abbey, who took him in and cared for him. For years he would slip into a quiet trance, remembering the dark day when Zelda was taken from him. But the monks were now there to help ease the pain. They knew that helping others was the best medicine, and so encouraged Soogy to continue helping other orphans who needed just as much as he needed and more.
It was while helping a cartload of children on the way to Empath Abbey that Soogy first met Hefyrt, though at the time, Soogy did not know this. Years later, as an eager starting warrior, Soogy would over hear a conversation that would change his life forever. You see, Soogy was standing there, outside the Abbey, on that fateful day that Willy of Wilde found Hefyrt. Soogy was swept away by the tale and emotion of the situation, and fell to his knees, swearing his allegiance and fealty to Hunter Rosmar. He is still known to help out with the orphans at the Empath Abbey, and it was he who inadvertently encouraged Angelina to join The House of Rosmar.
