John Deaconautograph

John

As you can see from the above picture, John Deacon is Queen's bassist. He has also contributed songwriting, acoustic guitar (Who Nees You & Misfire), and keyboards (You're My Best Friend -- electric piano)...but very little singing, if any at all!

More John

John is perhaps the quietest member of Queen...but when he speaks, his wit is obvious as is his humor.

Yet More John

bass John has an affinity for Fender P-Basses and Ernie Ball four-string basses. The P-Bass, invented in the 1950s by Leo Fender, appears in most pictures of John. The picture at right is from Fender's 1996 catalog; it is a P-Bass Deluxe which happens to look exactly like mine. It is a tiny bit different than a regular P-Bass, but looks identical.

John Yet Again

My favorite parts of some Queen songs are what John is doing -- the opening of The Millionaire Waltz, the fills in You & I, and of course the bass lines of Another One Bites the Dust, Dragon Attack, and much of the Hot Space album. Main Queen Page
