Epitaphs

I gave my light to your light,
and my darkness to your darkness.

Can there be true holding together?
On the earth there is water.

We traded rhythms, two drummers
drumming across a valley.

Cryptic scrawls:
a transcription of suspirations.

I read your lips to discover
a flagrant denouement.

Subtle ink blots
chattered ambiguously.

Our bellies' rainbow:
the locus of our dazzlement.

You were supernatural:
a Himalayan efflorescence.

Scarlet banded flames
reveled within your mantic gaze.

You with me, I with you:
variorum readings of reality.

Two skeletons stuck
in coral embrace.
