The Cookie Monster
Thomas Kang comes from a long and abundant line of the New York-Hatfield Kangs. Though the years may have been harsh on the Kangs of yesteryear and the pains of assimiliation into suburbia have taken their toll on the new Kangs, Thomas Kang will survive because he is a survivor. Huh? Whatever. Anyway, Thomas has been a constant joy to our dreary lives ever since his father announced his impending birth. Though many of us were concerned about the sudden change in our world view, we accepted and adapted to this bundle of joy. Yes, Thomas Kang will have a younger sister/brother in the a few months. Yes, he'll grow up and lose all those cute qualities that endear him to us. However, he will always remain the first one of our kids. Whatever.

The Kangs
The Kangs have always brought that little bit of excitement into all our lives. May it be from a superhuman disregard for punctuality or an insanely oblivious attitude to finance, they have made our lives a bit more interesting. As I have spent my years in their midst, I have been lucky to be known as the honorary Kang. Fortunately, my birth fell in between the day of Lawrence and the day of Elizabeth. For some time, we used to joke that I should be adopted into their crazy-weird-oddball family. I'm glad that it never happened 'cuz I would have gone nuts. Anyway, it was a rare opportunity to get all the Kangs together for one photograph. It was a nice moment and a nice photograph.

The Kangs [The Next Generation]
What more could be said about the Kangs except that it never seems to end. Just when you thought you could name all in the Kang Klan, another would join. And as a new member joined the illustrious Kangs, she brought the promise of another and yet another member. Have you no shame? Aren't there enough Kangs in the world? Well, I guess it's too late to ponder 'cuz another is on her way. We just hope that Hatfield can handle another Kang child. It seems that it was just a few months ago that Thomas was born and just a few more since the wedding. But every time we stop to think about it, we realize that it's been a long time. Strange how their marriage made us all question our own situations. Even stranger how nothing has really changed. I guess it's appropriate that as another Kang child enters our little circle of weirdos, none of us are any closer to our own fateful day. Except maybe little Thomas.

Guy So Cool
Let me say first of all that this guy is way too cool. I mean look at his-ever-so cool stance and his almost anorexic body with that not-in-my-neighborhood shades . . . wow. Is this a dream or is this mere fantasy? Maybe his gaunt frame belies a strength of character and will that overcomes all or maybe his stare behind those Clubmasters pierces souls with its furious passion or maybe he's just an idiot who thinks he's so . . . so '89. Yep, it's hard to imagine myself as I was back in those go-go eighties. It's harder to imagine that my adolescence is over. For what can a person do when his glory years have passed and all he has to look forward to is a degeneration of his body and memories of glories past. Though I may not have gained much physical girth, I hope one day to be as a certain vegetarian recently remarked, meaty.
