Journey to Korea

I journeyed to back in May and it was not at all what I had expected. As an urban studies major I was pretty appalled at the lack of urban planning and shoddy infrastructure that plagues the city of Seoul. Between the pollution, congestion, sexist attitudes and rude people, I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. I'm just glad to be back in New York. The inhabitants of Seoul make New York look like Mr. Rogers neighborhood. It was not all bad. The photo here was taken on the beautiful island of Cheju that literally took my breath away.

Here we are sitting in the midst of peace and beauty, me and my sister Grace are just taking a break. There's an obvious age gap - fourteen years - between us, so often times I've been mistaken for the mom. We're cool though. We can actually hang. You see, she's very precocious for her age. It was her first time stepping foot in Korea and she loved it, as only kids can love. *sigh* To be a kid again... I'm living vicariously through my sister trying to enjoy the simple pleasures of being young.

For those of you who do not have the time or resources to visit Korea, I've created a virtual tour of cool things related to Korea and Koreans.
