Simon & Schuster editor, John Ordover , will teach the fundamentals of professional fiction writing, both short stories and novels, including plot structure, characterization, proper manuscript format and also what a literary agent can and cannot do for you. Genres from science fiction and mysteries to mainstream literature will be covered.

Students will be required to submit two short stories or chapters for critique by the instructor and the class in a workshop environment.
