Knight
is a pianist whose personality flavors his performances with
verve and panache. Schooled in the classic repertoire, Knight
has made a speciality of virtuoso piano transcriptions in the
tradition of Liszt and Earl Wild. Drawing on his extensive repertoire
of popular standards and light classics, Knight was the Rainbow
Room's featured soloist until its recent closing. His discography
includes two critically acclaimed Gershwin CDs as well as recordings
devoted to the works of Chopin and Mussorgsky. When requested,
Hyperion's commentary on the lives of the composers provides
an entertaining and informative addition to his performances.
