firm of Goldstein, Gellman, Melbostad, Gibson & Harris,
LLP, began in 1986. Over the years, we have grown in size and
experience, but we retain the close personal relationships with
our clients that have been our hallmark since the two original
partners first shared a desk and a typewriter. Our partners
and associates have extensive experience in trial work, business
and real estate litigation and transactional matters. Our firm

David
R. Gellman - Partner David
R. Gellman focuses on transactional matters such as condominium
conversion, commercial leasing, tenancies-in-common, business
formation and operation, real property transactions, like-kind
exchanges and estate planning. He also supervises the firm's
landlord/tenant litigation and rent control practice. David
began his San Francisco law practice as a sole practitioner
in 1982. He holds a B.A. in economics, anthropology and psychology
from Northwestern University (1975), and obtained his law degree
from Boston University Law School in 1978. He is a member of
the Bars of the states of Wisconsin and California. David is

Jeffrey
G. Gibson - Partner Jeffrey
G. Gibson is a trial lawyer specializing in all aspects of real
estate, business, employment and liability litigation, and domestic
partner disputes. Jeff began his practice in Los Angeles, and
joined the firm in 1989, becoming a partner in 1994. He received
his B.A. degree from the University of Texas, and his J.D. degree
from Pepperdine University, at Malibu, California. Jeff served
three years on the Board of Directors of the AIDS Legal Referral
Panel. He is an adjunct professor of law at Golden Gate University
School of Law in San Francisco. Jeff chaired the American Bar
Association Committee (ABA) on the Rights of Lesbians and Gay
men for six years, and in 2000 was appointed by the president
of the ABA to serve on its Unmet Needs of Children Committee.

Stephen Goldstein - Partner R.
Stephen Goldstein is a transactional and litigation attorney,
with particular expertise in settlement negotiations, arbitration
and mediation techniques, tort, contract real property and business
law, and sexual harassment. A native of San Francisco, Steve
is a graduate of the University of California, Riverside, earning
his law degree from Hastings College of Law, San Francisco,
in 1978, where he wrote for the Constitutional Law Quarterly.
In 1993, Steve completed mediation training at Program for Instruction
of Lawyers at Harvard Law School. He has served as lead counsel
in all manner of business trials, and was a co-founder, first
President and is a member of the Board of The Mediation Society.

Lee
S. Harris - Partner
Lee S. Harris is a trial lawyer, with experience in insurance,
personal injury and construction defect cases. Lee merged his
practice with the firm in 1996. He previously served as managing
partner of Cartwright, Bokelman, Borowsky, Moore, Harris, Alexander
& Gruen, Inc. Lee received his undergraduate degree with
honors from Harvard and his law degree from the University of
San Francisco in 1977, where he received the American Jurisprudence
Award for Evidence. He has authored articles and lectured on
insurance coverage, jury selection, personal injury, property
damage and business litigation. He has served as a member of
the faculty of the Stanford Law School Trial Advocacy Skills
Program, Hastings College of Advocacy and the University of
San Francisco School of Law Intensive Advocacy Program. Lee
is a past president of the University of San Francisco School
of Law Alumni Association, and served as chair of the Association
of Trial Lawyers of America, Insurance Section. He is also a
past president of the City of Alameda Planning Board. Lee is

Paul
H. Melbostad - Partner
Paul H. Melbostad specializes in probate and domestic partnership
disputes, probate administration, employment, business and real
estate transactions, and litigation. Paul associated with the
firm in 1992, becoming a partner in April of 1993. A native
of Minnesota, he obtained the degrees of J.D. and M.B.A., from
the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 1981, and
served as an economic advisor on the staff of the Governor,
and was certified by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy
in 1986. In 1996, 1999 and again in 2001, Paul was appointed
by the District Attorney to the San Francisco Ethics Commission,
which enforces the laws governing campaign finance, lobbyists,
campaign consultants and the whistleblower program. Paul served
as a Commissioner on the San Francisco Board of Permit Appeals
from 1988 to 1992. He also served for eight years on the Board
of Directors of 18th Street Services, a nonprofit substance
abuse agency in San Francisco treating gay men and other persons
at high risk for AIDS. Paul continues to serve as advisor to
several other nonprofit agencies and foundations. Paul can be

A. Jeanne Jorge - Associate
A. Jeanne Jorge's primary practice areas are landlord/tenant, eviction and San Francisco Rent Control law. Born in Toronto, Canada, Jeanne has been a Californian since age eleven. She received her B.A. in Political Science and French at the University of California at Los Angeles, where she graduated an Alumni Scholar. Jeanne acquired her J.D. at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2004. During her law school career, she was awarded Best Brief of the New York Bar Association Moot Court competition and named National Champion of the Tulane Sports Law Moot Court competition. R. Boyd
McSparran - Associate
R. Boyd McSparran counsels small property owners on landlord/tenant
issues, tenancies-in-common, condominium conversions, and general
residential and commercial real property matters. A 1991 graduate
of Franklin and Marshall College, and a student of The University
of Edinburgh and Vermont Law School, Boyd earned his law degree
from the University of California Hastings College of the Law
in 1999 and joined the firm in 2000.
Having relinquished his rent-controlled apartment a few years ago, Boyd and
his TIC partners are currently condo converting their duplex in San

Gregory B. Mouroux - Associate
Gregory B. Mouroux practices general litigation with an emphasis on business and employment litigation. Greg graduated cum laude from U.C. San Diego in 1996 with degrees in Theater Arts and Communications, earned his law degree from U.C. Hastings College of the Law in 2003, with honors in Appellate Advocacy, and represented Hastings in the Pepperdine Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition, where he was awarded the Best Written Respondents Brief. Mr. Mouroux externed for Judge Yakov Ostrovsky at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in Arusha, Tanzania, in the spring of 2003. Brian
E. Soriano - Associate
Brian E. Soriano practices general litigation with an emphasis
on employment discrimination and insurance litigation. Brian
graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison, and attended Golden Gate University School
of Law on a full merit scholarship, where he won the school
Appellate Advocacy Competition and received awards for Best
Written Brief and Best Oral Advocate. Brian graduated with honors
with a certificate of specialization in litigation and received
the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award for the most
outstanding student in the field of litigation. A recipient
of the Judge Lee Baxter Fellowship in Litigation, Brian taught
advanced litigation courses at Golden Gate University, and became
associated with the firm in 1997 after spending one year in
private practice handling criminal cases and employment disputes.
