In a training effort for teachers at a collection of K-12 schools, the
authors traveled to Rio de Janeiro to conduct a two-day inservice workshop.
Its focus was "hands-on" exposure to various educational software
as well as the Internet. This article describes the structure of the workshop
and feedback from the Brazilian teachers. Issues particular to such distance
training efforts - language and cultural differences - are also discussed.
