The academic capabilities of the computer and its social, cultural, and
psychological impact within the school context were widely investigated
by researchers throughout the world. The present study attempts to examine
how the role of computers in the school is perceived by teachers and schools
administrators in schools that use computers. Though some significant differences
appeared in the views of the three groups to some issues related to computer
usage in schools, the overall trend was an agreement on the necessity to
train all teachers on computer skills, the motivational role of the computer,
the integration of computer education into the regular curricula, and the
necessity to have curriculum guidelines for computer education activities.
