Birth of a Proactive Instructional Technology Center: A Case of System Change

The University of Wisconsin system decided to merge its Learning Materials Center and the Instructional Technology Service into an integrated Instructional Technology Center. This new center supports print collections, non-print collections, circulating audio-visual and other equipment, and computer maintenance functions. Issues addressed included staffing patterns, staff training, physical renovation, and hardware and software acquisitions.
