in the Schools, Vol 15 No 1, 1999, p. 19-23
The technology is available today to make the connected learning community
and universal learning a reality, and in the coming years, the need for
such a network will increase dramatically. As is pointed out in the Lemon
LINK home page (http://www.lgsd.k12.ca.us),
the transformation in the world of work demands an integration of the school,
the home, and the workplace. Responsibilities and functions that once were
isolated to one area or another are crossing over into each other. These
three once very independent entities of our society are breaking apart,
combining, and overlapping in new ways.
