Pre-service field experiences, otherwise known as "classroom observations,"practice
teaching," or "student teaching," are where education majors
become acquainted with the realities of the classroom. If the goals of a
teacher preparation program include helping students acquire expertise with
educational technology, then these experiences should extend to the pre-service
training. This article discusses the competencies teachers need to use technology,
including a schedule of events, and what classroom support is needed.
