This article discusses what journalism schools are doing well and poorly
with regards to technological education, at both the undergraduate and graduate
levels. Conclusions drawn from a survey of various colleges include that
journalism students are satisfactorily taught freedom of expression and
freedom of information, but less adequately taught technology subjects.
The author suggests more emphasis be placed on technology instruction in
journalism programs.
