This study examined group differences in Algebra I exam performance,
mathematics anxiety, attitude towards success in mathematics, and confidence
in learning mathematics, for both computer-assisted students and students
using the traditional lecture method of instruction. The traditional lecture
group on the average scored higher than the computer-assisted group in
mathematics, but that might have been because the commercial software used
did not cover all the concepts. There were no apparent differences in mathematics
attitudes, anxiety, or confidence.
