Maggie Walker Design delivers contemporary garment patterns with new techniques filled with fun and flair. Create wearables with a difference.

The patterns and instructions are clear, easy to follow, and great for classes. Even beginners can learn various techniques playing with the sewing machine, creating texture with random linear lines of quilting, slashing, grid quilting, raw edge applique, free-motion applique, crazy strip piecing, or just combining different fabrics together.

Fun to do and fun to wear!

We try to have easy-to-finish edges that accent the garment. Some have tab and loop closures that create a design element from Country to Exotic. Other finishing edges have random quilting with lots of threads. The Contemporary Walkabout Vest has that random quilting that traps bits and pieces of yarns, glitzy threads, suede, ribbon, etc. in the quilting to enhance the feeling of texture. The reversible garments have folded patches and bias edges for more texture. Easy different pockets -- some hidden, some part of the design.

Concepts in Sulky

Our patterns for the Reversible Gypsy Vest, Gypsy Jacket and HapiKids vests have been featured in Sew News Magazine, PBC's Sew America, and the book "Patchwork Concepts in Sulky".

The Vintage Vest is featured, in reversible style, in the new book "Dressed By The Best" from Martingale & Co.

Both of these books are excellent resources for the quilting enthusiast.
