In the 1880 Census William Aubrey Fletcher is listed as a printer, age 20, living with his father in Warrenton.10
Here's a not-so-happy lmemory of Ellen Beyer. It happened when her family was living in maryland in the 1930's. Her grandfather (william Aubrey) liked her to sit on his lap. When she was "maturing" (her words) he asked her to sit on his lap, and proceeeded to feel up her breasts, "mumbling something about little titties" according to my mother. She said she "Cut him out of my life" after that. " I Couldn't avoid seeing him in the house every day, but I didn't want to have anything to do with him, and I never sat in his lap again."2 |
