The SLIMFLEX model SX-HCEG high back armchair is multi- adjustable ergonomic task chair equipped with a gas cylinder. It has separate adjustment of seat and backrest tilt with backrest height adjustment and adjustable arms in width and height.
The chair has a separate seat and back frame, built according to the patented* "Suspension" technique. The seat and back frames are made of 5/8" diameter (16mm) 16-gauge bent steel tubes. The seat frame includes two 3/16" thick (5mm) steel plates welded to the tubes to which are fastened the armrests and the 3/32" thick (2,3mm) ribbed galvanized steel bridge required for the central base. The back frame includes widthwise 1/4" x 2" plate steel (6x50mm) welded to the tube to which the backrest support is fastened. The adjustable backrest support is made of 1/4" x 1 3/4" (6x45mm) flat steel and is screwed to the backrest (3 screws). The support is strengthened by thermal treatment and covered with a semi rigid PVC ribbed accordion sleeve.
Flexible woven plastic belts are slipped onto the seat and backrest and pulled taut. A fire retardant medium density foam covers the frame, 3/4" thick foam (19mm) on the backrest and 1 1/4" thick molded foam (32mm) on the seat. Fabric covers complete the upholstery and are held in place with zippers along the bottom edge of the backrest and under the seat. This model is equipped with the 22" diameter (558mm) nylon resin Shepherd Viscount base, mounted on 2" diameter (50mm) hooded double-wheel casters. The base, which is guaranteed for 6 years, exceeds the BIFMA/ANSI standards. The SLIMFLEX Model SX-HCEG uses Northfield's ergonomic SP-6000 mechanism, with separate adjustment of seat and backrest tilt, and a SUSPA (17-4) brand gas cylinder with a telescopic cover on the base column. All these components are finished in black.

The arms are adjustable in width and height, having padded armrests of semi rigid molded urethane with a pellicular finish.
