SPECIFICATIONS AMP POWERFLOR WIRE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM PART I-GENERAL RELATED DOCUMENTS: The general provisions of Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and General Requirements apply to work specified in this section. DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK: Provide Wire Management floor system that facilitates under floor services with modular pedestal units and integral carpet tiles. Include all accessories for electronics and electrical and electrical interface to existing electrical junctions. SUBMITTALS: Submit for architect's approval, production drawings, product data, warranty, maintenance data and extra stock. QUALITY ASSURANCE: Comply with governing codes and regulations. Use experienced, authorized installers. Deliver, handle and store materials in accordance with the rnanufacturers instructions. TESTING: The floor system shall meet or exceed (without carpet surface), the following criteria as tested by the manufacturer: Concealed Load: Applied to one square inch area at the weakest point of pedestal: Greater than 1,100 pounds per square inch. Uniform Load: Applied to on 9"x9" square pedestal unit: Greater than 25,600#. Flammability Rating For polycarbonate material, UL94VO Flammability Rating: For foam polyurethane foam underlayment, UL94VO.
PART II-PRODUCT MATERIAL: Low profile wire management system shall consist of 2-5/8" high by 9" square Polycarbonate pedestals united with four identical units providing a 18" x 18" unit to which a carpet tile is adhered. The 18" square units are laid onto a level floor and placed over l/8" thick polyurethane foam. Panels are placed loose to achieve accessibility. Nominal overall height of system is 3" Includes ramps, perimeter closure pieces and access parts for electrical and electronic systems below. MANUFACTURER: System shall be "AMP/POWERFLOR" manufactured at 700 E. Hebron St, Charlotte, NC 28273. It shall accommodate power and voice/data outlets as manufactured by AMP, Inc. and shall use carpet tiles as selected by architect and/or owner. Selected carpet shall be compatible with POWERFLOR production standards. FLOOR OUTLETS: Provide panels with openings for power portals to be located as directed by Architect. PART III-EXECUTION PREPARATION: Inspect floor prior to installation. Floor shall be clean, dry and level. Do not begin work until any irregularities in floor are corrected. Do not install product until heat and ventilation are operational and all moisture is dispelled. INSTALLATION: Comply with manufactures instructions and recommendations. Provide cutouts, ramps and closure trim as indicated and as needed. Minimize the number of cut panels and layout to avoid less than 1/2 panel units. Scribe to accurately fit where needed. Repair or replace damaged components. Clean. PROTECTION: Provide proper protection from damage by other trades. Repair all irregularities and damage prior to acceptance. Product may be safely stored in temperature ranges between 32 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Palletized product can be safely handled with a forklift. UL LISTINGS AMP INNERGY: Power system by AMP.
