AMP POWERFLOR
The Amp Powerflor product is
a complete low profile access floor " Cable Management System " which offers a total solution for Technology Classroom
requirements. It functions as an access floor located cable
chase, with a completely integrated electrical
power system and a completely integrated Voice /
Data System. This product satisfies all
connectivity standards within a low profile access floor and allows for the migration
in technology that will be occurring in the
future.
The access floor consists of 18" x
18" Panels 3" high, with a Carpet tile finished top
surface. These panels are placed on the floor, next
to each other, in both directions, wall to wall, to
form a new elevated access floor surface. Perimeter pieces
are field cut and used to fill in odd dimensions
around the room. Ramps are provided for both A.D.A.
and Non-A.D.A. access.
Electrical
Power is provided
with a Duplex
Outlet
mounted into one
quarter section of the access panel ( maximum of four
outlets per panel ) with a covered recessed
mounting grommet ( Powerport ) resulting in a
totally flush outlet, located anywhere on the floor
surface. The electrical outlets are inter-connected
with cable harnesses that plug into the outlet
base. Cable harnesses are available in varying
lengths to allow for a group of outlets to be
inter-connected to the power source. The system
provides four 20 amp. electrical power circuits to
each outlet base. Each outlet location can receive
a Duplex Outlet Insert, numerically identified as
to which circuit it is powered with. This Power
System offers the greatest efficiency of circuit
utilization, potential in outlet locations, as well
as providing total accessibility and flexibility
for future, moves, additions, and changes.
Voice,
Data, and other "
Low
Voltage " needs
are satisfied with one of two options offered by
Powerflor. First, where locations allow that the
wire closet is located within or convenient to the
space, a traditional direct cabling ( Home Run Type
) installation can be provided. Using the same
floor located grommet as the power outlet, you can
mount a modular data / communication outlet ( ACO
). It will provide for V / D cabling at Category 5
level, and can be terminated using EIA / TIA
standards, with the cabling located beneath the
floor panels. The outlet can accept 140 different
types of insert jacks ( RJ-11, RJ-45, Ethernet,
Thinet, etc. ) which can be inserted into the user
side of the outlet. This provides easily installed
and changed connectivity for all of your equipment
needs.
As a second option, and most
beneficial when multiple spaces share one wire
closet or when the wire closet is located a
considerable distance from the space, Powerflor
offers a " Local Distribution System " (
LDS ). This option includes the use of a
utility center that replaces one panel in a
Powerflor system with a cabinet that functions as a
mini wiring closet or as a consolidation point. The
utility center contains standard 19" Wire Rack
Patch Panels that allow for the installation of
Pre-Terminated cables through the floor, direct to
the equipment. The product also offers a complete
Fiberconnectivity option.
The Amp Powerflor Cabling
System offers the following benefits for a
technological environment:
- The product is provided
as a complete system within a low profile access floor and minimizes construction costs and time in preparing a room for occupancy.
- At 3" in overall height,
it is ideal for the renovation of existing
spaces with minimum impact to height clearance.
A.D.A. approved access ramps provided in three
foot lengths allowing for more usable space in
the room.
- All floor finishing
issues are included as part of the product, with
numerous carpet tile color selections available
to choose from that address color coordination
requirements.
- The product is not
attached to the building structure, so it can be
purchased as a capital type expenditure (procured from different budgets as furniture and equipment or construction).
- It provides for power,
data, and communication outlets to be located in
the middle of the room, without any visual
obstruction ( i.e. Powerpoles, Columns, etc. ).
It eliminates the need for penetrating concrete
slab floors to provide these outlets ( i.e.
core-drilling, duct or poke-trough installation,
etc. ) It also eliminates the need for any
special furniture cable raceway type
items.
- All service outlets can
be relocated without professional
tradespeople.
- New Outlets can be added
without professional tradespeople.
- Connectivity changes can
be made without professional
tradespeople.
- All cable servicing or
replacement can be achieved quickly and
inexpensively from our extensive inventory of
parts.
- The complete system can
be easily and inexpensively relocated, as space
allocations change.
- Can be purchased open
market or on GSA contract.
