Some Thoughts

Well Crew, I think you should all give yourselves a pat on the back for what you, as a team, have accomplished so far this season.  We have played 10 games (including 4 in the Columbus Day tournament) and continue to be undefeated, quite impressive!  Below is a quote from an e-mail Bobby received from a friend who was watching you over Columbus day that shows that teamwork is a real strength of the Crew.

"PS I enjoyed watching the Crew play NGS Team #2 at the Columbus Day
Tournament.  I knew your team had foot skills... but I was more impressed
with the team play.  In fact, I was impressed by the fact that I noticed the
team play much more than the foot skills."

It has also been a great pleasure to watch the commitment level you have demonstrated at practices (with the last mudball, boy watching, practice aside :.) ).  Bobby, John and I are all very proud of you, and are greatly enjoying coaching you.Ý

One of the main goals for the rest of this season and for the Spring will be for you to remember that regardless of your winning record, there is still a lot of room for improvement and a lot of skills that you still have yet to master.  One of our challenges as coaches, is to coach not only for this year, but to help develop your skills, your attitude and your team play for the future.  Of course we do think about this year's state championships! So, with that in mind, we look forward to the challenges ahead.   GO CREW!
