Edgar R. Berner

Edgar R. Berner co-founded The Wicks Group of Companies, L.L.C., in January 1989. As a Managing Director at Wicks, he is involved in all its investment and management activities and serves on the Board of Directors of all its operating companies.
Mr. Berner has been an entrepreneur and operating executive for more than 30 years. In 1969, Mr. Berner founded Health Examinetics, Inc., a medical organization that provides automated mobile health testing services throughout the United States. He managed the company until it was sold to Dart and Kraft, Inc. in 1985. Before 1969, Mr. Berner was an executive with Richardson-Vicks, Inc. and General Motors Corporation.
Mr. Berner has been Chairman of the Board of Republic Automotive Parts, Inc.,
and has served on the Board of Directors of Amerace Corporation, Baker Brothers, Inc., Broadcasting Partners, Inc., Laurentian Capital, Technograph, Inc., and Triton Group. He also has been on the Debenture and Equity Holder Committees in several bankruptcies, including Braniff, Chase Manhattan Mortgage and Realty Investors, Citizens and Southern Realty Investors, and LTV.
Mr. Berner serves on the Board of Trustees of the Cancer Research Institute and the New York Philharmonic. Earlier he served as a trustee of The Arthritis Foundation and the Deafness and Hearing Research Foundation.
Edgar Berner graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and History.
