This introductory training will
cover Unlawful Detainer defense and the San Francisco Rent Control
Ordinance. The training will cover substantive law as well as
legal procedure for summary eviction proceedings. Training materials
include a legal summary of the substantive issues, a copy of the
San Francisco Ordinance, as well as sample pleadings and papers.

This training will address the
many credit issues that face people with HIV/AIDS and other long-term
disabilities. In this time of promising treatments, some people
with HIV, who were once judgment proof, are considering returning
to work and must address long term debts. The focus of the training
will be on creditor issues and Chapter 7, with specific discussions
on dealing with creditors outside of bankruptcy, student loan
debt, garnishment of wages, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy basics.

The training will focus on frequently
recurring issues in disability insurance cases and recent appellate
decisions concerning disability insurance. Among the topics to
be addressed are communications with insurance company adjusters,
handling of individual versus group policies, interpretation of
policy terms, prosecuting claims for benefits, defending claims
for rescission, and the California Supreme Court's decision in
Galanty.
