La Maison d'Armorine![]() La Maison d'Armorine (The new caramel candy guys): During the summer of 1946 in Quiberon, a peninsula off the coast of Brittany, France, one of the exciting things to do day or night after a hard days play or rest at the beach was to stroll down to a beachside stand called "Les Niniches" and partake of one of their unique long, warm caramel suckers called "Niniches." Business was booming and the recipe was simple: cane sugar, pure Brittany butter salted with Guèrande salt made into a succulent caramel confection in a copper pot rolled into thin "logs" and served warm on a stick. This was the start of another artisan industry in France: La Maison d'Armorine. Since these fun beginnings, La Maison d'Armorine has developed a large product line that still stays consistent with their beginnings: caramels. They still use small batch (50kg) production cooked in copper, hand pulled and finished. Now they have moved into the artisan world of Caramels A La Fleur De Sel. |
