Combining helicopter lifts with unparalleled sightseeing, Heli-hiking has emerged 20 years later as one of this century's great innovations in travel.

This tour is ideal for persons who want to see the famous sights and resorts of Banff and Lake Louise and then... go beyond for a more private alpine adventure at the Bugaboo Lodge.
 
The tour starts with a short ride across the last few miles of Canadian prairie into the most beautiful mountains in this hemisphere. You will visit Banff, a storybook village surrounded by some of the most magnificent scenery in North America, followed by a raft trip on Bow River, a ride to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake before you arrive at the Chateau Lake Louise, situated amidst lovely gardens at the edge of emerald Lake Louise below Victoria Glacier. The Icefields Parkway is surely the most scenic drive in North America. Millions of visitors come here to marvel at the sharp, towering peaks and pristine alpine views seen along the way. Also included is a visit to Peyto Lake and the Athabasca Glacier. Return south to Radium Hot Springs, via the Yoho National Park offering spectacular panoramas of the Rocky and Purcell Mountains.
 
A visit to Bugaboos Lodge, located in Bugaboo Provincial Park at the tongue of Bugaboo Glacier, is another adventure. This is a remote alpine region where sheer granite spires rise from the glacier forming an unbelievable montage of mountain peaks. The lodge overlooks Bugaboo Glacier and Marmolata Spire. Then on to a helicopter ride into the enchanting world of glaciers, forests, snow fields and alpine meadows.The next two days are filled with walks and hikes on high alpine meadows, watered by melting snows and dotted with patches of bluebells, mountain alder, cotton grass and Indian paintbrush. Some walks may be on rocky escarpments surrounded by waterfalls and panoramic views, while others are on others are on the glacier's surface which occasionally rumbles as it moves along with the a very fast rate. The last exciting experience is a visit to Kootenay National Park, a magnificent wilderness area. The tour ends in Calgary.
