Surface Navy Association Photography Award, co sponsored by Surface Warfare Magazine, is presented to the person judged to have taken the best still photograph of any subject directly related to Surface Warfare.
The "Old Salt" recognizes the Active Duty Surface Warfare Officer with the earliest date of qualification as Officer of the Deck, Underway.
The "Old Tar" Award is presented to the active duty Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist with the earliest date of qualification as an ESWS. The "Old Tar" statue is a special casting of Navy Memorial's "The Chief" which has been mounted on original planking from the USS CONSTITUTION.
The Special Recognition Award is generally awarded to SNA members, SNA dependents and Surface Navy retirees whose community-related activities go "above and beyond" and promote the Surface Navy.
This award is provided to individuals whose contribution to an action or campaign, concluding not less than fifty years ago, typifies the finest traditions of the Surface Navy.
Secection of the top ESWS E-6 and below enlsited performer, sea and shore, in each force is selected by the Type Commaner.
This award, named after the late former Chief of Naval Operations and Honorary Chairman of the Surface Navy Association.
This prestigious award recognizes superior achievement in the operational aspects of Surface Warfare by qualified Surface Warfare

The Surface Warfare Roll of Honor and Hall of Fame recognizes those who have made an
exceptionally significant contribution to the Continental Navy, U.S. Surface Navy, or to

The Surface Navy Literary Award, which is co-sponsored by the Surface Navy Association and the
United States Naval Institute, recognizes the best professional article in any publication addressing Surface Navy or Surface Warfare issues.
The Association presents a ship's clock to the Surface Warfare Officer's School Damage Control graduating student with the highest grade point average.
The Association supports the Navy's Recruiters of the Year week in which the top recruiters, both commissioned and enlisted, are honored for their excellence in Navy recruiting.
The Association encourages recognition of Surface Warriors throughout the Navy by supporting the awards programs of the twenty-three Association chapters around the world.
Expert Shiphandler Award recognizes Surface Warfare professionals that excel in the art of naval shiphandling.
The Association recognizes outstanding Freshman or Sophomore Cadets in their first year in NJROTC.
Recruit Division Commander of the Year Award is presented to the top Recruit Company Commander at the Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes.
