Media Watch works to challenge abusive stereotypes and other biased images commonly found in the media. Media Watch, which began in 1984, distributes educational videos, media literacy information and newsletters to help create more informed consumers of the mass media. While the organization does not believe in censorship, they strongly believe education will help create a more active citizenry who will take action against commercial media pap.

NOW's Redefining Liberation Project is a national effort to combat dangerous advertising messages by the tobacco, fashion, and alcohol industries. The Project was initiated by Elizabeth Toledo, a national leader in feminist politics who has a strong record of public speaking, media appearances and grassroots organizing.

The Women's Desk analyses sexism, racism and homophobia in the media and works with activists and media professionals to get a broad range of feminist perspectives included in the public debate. The women's desk monitors mainstream print, cable and broadcast media and corresponds with journalists, editors and producers nationwide.
