Our only goal at Portatree is to provide the highest quality equipment at the lowest possible price to our customers. When we design a product, it has to be easy to operate and setup, be reliable and dependable, and have features that are far advanced of the competition. While we are in the design stage, we always think of our customers budget and how they will be using the product.

KEEPING ALL OF THIS IN MIND, PORTATREE IS PROUD TO PRESENT THE :

PORTATREE PROFESSIONAL
A GENERATION AHEAD OF THE COMPETITION

Our line of drag racing timing computers has revolutionized the sport of drag racing and allows a track to begin very small and grow very large. The features that are standard on all units are very futuristic. We have options that offer increased efficiency and others that offer increased safety. Whatever your track size, the Portatree Professional is flexible enough to fit your needs.

THE BASE UNIT:

The Portatree Professional is has been designed to be operated with or without an IBM Compatible Personal Computer. This feature has been used by Portattree on our current system and over the Past 8 Years, it has saved the day at many drag strips who have had problems with hard drives, monitors, or event power at their tracks. When the Portatree Professional is used in stand alone mode, it provides a 4 Line -- 20 Character Display of information for the announcer and it still generates time slips and a data log of each run down the track.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

We currently serve over 500 tracks in the U.S.A. and Canada and around the World. The amount of feedback and response from track owners and managers has prompted us to add some so the most unique features that anyone could imagine.

  1. TOP BULB OSCILLATE [ FULL TREE ]
This feature allows the track operator to set the computer into a mode that makes the top amber bulb on the Christmas Tree NEVER to come on at the correct time !! The second and third bulbs operate as they normally would, but any driver with a delay box trying to leave of f the top bulb will never be able to cut a consistent Reaction Time. This helps the track operator by eliminating the need to police cars for delay boxes in classes where no delay boxes are allowed.

  2. TREE SPEED SET:
The normal .500 and .400 Tree Speeds in Full and Pro Tree are preset in the computer. If a track operator wanted to initiate a special tree speed, it can easily be done when race information is entered. In stand alone mode, the tree speeds can be set from .1 to .9 seconds. When using the P.C., you can set the tree speeds from .100 to .900 in thousands of a second.

  3. FULL AND PRO TREE RACES IN SAME CLASSES:
This feature allows the track operator to run Full Trees against Pro Trees with any tree speed setting and any Dial - In combination. You can run all out anything goes categories with handicaps and TRUE WIN !!!

  4. DIAL-IN DISPLAY BOARD [ OPTIONAL ]:
The racer will knows exactly what their Dial-In is when they pull up to the line. You can even set the displays to show the RT, MPH, and Elapsed Time for the run. This works for small tracks that do not have large scoreboards.

  5. RS-485 LOOP BACK COMMUNICATION SYSTEM:
This is a Portatree Feature that was designed to keep the communication wiring at a race track less expensive and more dependable. The RS-485 system is not subject to RFI and EMI Interference from the Race Cars at the same level as RS-232 which is the standard serial interface. It is setup to drive the Dial-In Displays, scoreboards, and the time slip printer all off the same cable link. You can even connect 2 time slip printers -- One for each Lane.

  6. NETWORKING P.C.'S WITH PORTATREE CUSTOM SOFTWARE:
The amount of P.C.'s that connect to your LAN [ LOCAL AREA NETWORK ] is your choice, but this feature gives you incredible power and operational functions. You can have one P.C. in the Tower for Race Control, a second P.C. for the announcer, and a third P.C. for Data Entry and Reports, Qualifying Lists, or Ladders. A Fourth P.C. can be setup in your TECH AREA for data entry and Tech inspection information. Many more P.C.'s can be added if required.

DRAG RACING SOFTWARE
Drag Race Control and Post Process Information in ONE PACKAGE

PORTATREE has developed a Windows Based Software Package that allows you to quickly and comfortably run a Drag Race. The Software runs on your own P.C. equipment and operates in either a one P.C. environment or in a network of more than 1 P.C. We DO NOT sell P.C.'s, but encourage our customers to use local P.C. suppliers who build and service them.

The advantage of using your own P.C. equipment is that your local computer supplier/servicer can provide fast service and support along with the ability to keep your computer system at the current level of technology. Drag strip operators that purchased Personal Computers just a few years ago from other Race Equipment manufacturers are struppling with slow computers that they can not upgrade without spending a lot of money. Our systems can be upgraded by your local P.C. supplier at a fraction of the cost and at any time you want to upgrade.

Another important note is that if you truly want High Performance out of your System, then you should definitely network at least 2 computers together. One Computer can be used as a data entry station and report printing while the other is used to run the Drag Racing Event. Networking is best done by a Professional and local support can not be beat. Networking can be done very cost effectively through Windows '95 or '98 and an Ethernet Card.

The Post Process Software has been developed utilizing BORLAND INTERNATIONAL's Paradox for Windows and the Drag Race Program was developed under Borland's Delphi. We are very pleased with the Performance of this Software and we recommend this software to any track that has over 100 Entries on any given Day !! Paradox is now owned by Corel and is up to Version 9.0. You can even custom program your own forms and reports using the racer and results databases.

Racer Entry, Category Editor, Points Program, Mailing Lists, and Data Log Editor are all versions of the entry level software package. Scoreboard Drivers, Auto Start, and Qualifying and Ladders are part of several upgrade versions that you can purchase as an enhancement to your initial purchase. We continually upgrade and improve the software and add features that are necessary to improve the sport of Drag Racing.
